The Web Designer Team Lead will report directly to the Director of Web Development and while it is a management position this individual is still expected to work alongside the creative team in completing team projects. They will also be charged with determining the best ways/practices for design and functionality of new web properties in terms of highest conversion rate. This will be accomplished through the use of A/B testing, various analytics programs, and industry best practices. The Team Lead will be responsible for managing a small in house team and third party firms while also working directly with other departments to accomplish the marketing goals of each of our clients.

The Web Designer Team Lead will also plan, design and code our web properties following the Company style guide and geared towards high conversion. They will also serve as a project manager and be in charge of the entire creative team’s open project queue and will ensure that their work will be completed on the right time schedule with the highest levels of quality. The ability to successfully manage dozens of open projects and ensuring timely and accurate delivery is a must.

• Manages creative team to ensure strategic and creative objectives are understood and consistently met, communicating project status and recommending adjustments to plan
• Overseeing and project managing dozens of open tasks at any given time an ensuring they are being completed with the utmost quality and on time
• Works with other departments to create/produce appropriate web properties and performance testing
• Create landing pages, websites and other web properties that are optimized for high conversion rates
• Provide conceptual, design, analytics testing, and copy direction as appropriate for all web properties
• Communicate effectively with departments, team members and other project related groups to ensure project objectives are understood and consistently met, communicating project status and recommending adjustments to plan.
• Manage the resource allocation of internal and external resources of the creative staff

Qualifications

• Must be great designer and superior knowledge of tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Flash
• Must be a great HTML/CSS Coder. Ability to hand code a must!
• Undergraduate degree in Fine Arts or related field or equivalent visual design
• 2+ years experience in managing a team as well as project managing in a very high volume environment
• Ability to multitask and work on dozens and dozens of open tasks in a single day under tight deadlines
• Ability to serve as a liaison on project status between the sales team and account management team
• Serve as an escalation point should priorities/deadlines on a given project need to be changed
• Must be familiar with web metrics such as CTR, Conversion, CPC, CPM, etc…
• Experience in landing page optimization, design for direct response, A/B and multivariable testing
• Front end development experience and design required
• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography & limitations of the web
• Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. Apply best practices in user interface and interactive design
• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
• Knowledge of SEO/PPC/Conversion Based Design a big plus
