Responsibilities
Management
- Manage all existing marketing teams, develop organization plan, and define group MBOs.
- Marketing teams include social media and PR consultants, product Marketing, direct mail marketing, brand, e-mail marketing, SEO and SEM.
- Go To Market Reach and Acquisition: Work with senior leadership to define, plan and execute overall go-to-market strategy to reach and acquire new users and local business owners and exceed growth objectives.
- Engagement: Collaboratively work with senior leadership team and product managers to define marketing programs, products and services that drive users and business owners to engage more, moving them from new users, to highly engaged advance users.
- Create innovative, efficient, and measurable programs to aggressively drive LikeList’s user and SMB growth and retention.
- Define budgets for each GTM lever including Local, national PR, direct marketing, marketing collaterals, e-mail, SEO, SEM, offline and online advertising and organization.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market and quantify revenue opportunities in all target marketplaces to develop specific marketing and sales tactics
- Competitive Analysis: Closely monitor marketplace for competitive information. Develop internal and external competitive analysis and selling-against guides. This position must be the “go to” person to maintain competitive market intelligence and a strong track record in this area will be valued.
- Manage External Resources: When applicable, evaluate, recommend, select and oversee the work of any external marketing consultants, agencies and / or vendors as necessary
Brand Management
- Lead LikeList’s brand management including long-range marketing strategy, consumer segmentation model, and program tactics to achieve company objectives.
- Identify and oversee unique market positioning for each LikeList constituent: Consumers, Local Business owners, industry professionals and Developers
- Identify and control LikeList’s brand identity and brand platform, including the compelling internal and external messages for each LikeList constituent.
- Own LikeList’s ongoing industry communications including website copy, collateral, and corporate presentations
- Identify and control all messaging and product copy for the proper tone and voice of LikeList’s brand identity
- Develop and implement high-impact public relations plan through differentiated product positioning and messaging
Demand/Viral Marketing
- Develop and implement social and event-based marketing to seed to consumers and local business owner accounts with paid marketing programs.
- Oversee viral marketing programs and products that leverage seeded accounts to generate exponential growth in new accounts.
- Apply social media principles of reciprocity, influence, intrinsic and extrinsic rewards to drive viral growth.
- Create and execute demand generation programs with strong call-to-action promotional incentives that are distributed in all email marketing, direct mail, SEM/SEO activities, local advertising and co-marketing partnerships
Product Marketing
- Product Messaging: Oversee all website and mobile product marketing messages, instructional text, FAQ copy, tool tips and house-ads.
- Pricing: Continuing analysis of market pricing trends, working with senior management to develop and contribute to pricing recommendations
Local Marketing
- Community: Manage and grow LikeList’s community team
- Training: Develop key sales and channel training materials covering industry trends, product value proposition, and competitive positioning.
- Sales Tools: Develop content and format of sales tools such as white papers, presentations, product demos, etc.
- Oversee local PR, local community relationships, and local advertising budgets.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience in consumer products marketing, with at least 5 years in the online media industry in a management capacity.
- Ability to clearly rationalize, document and articulate strategic and tactical Marketing initiatives.
- Collaborative word style: Ability to work effectively with a broad set of internal stakeholders including, product management, sales, business operations, finance and software development
- CRM: Ability to work, understand, and leverage CRM system and web systems manage customer conversations and relationships.
- Ability to capture, analyze and apply customer feedback to improve branding, positioning and provide strong recommendations for improved usability and messaging across all products and services.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing strategies, with measurable and consistent results
- Proven understanding of landing page optimization and conversion.
- MBA in Marketing or equivalent a strong plus
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated management skills with a track record of building high performance internal teams and developing effective external relationships
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to take on new responsibilities as priorities change
- Comfortable in shifting quickly between strategic and tactical modes of work
- Deep understanding and use of analytics and business cases to drive decisions
